Agnes Scott College had the amazing opportunity to host Campus Movie Fest for the first time ever in October of 2019. Campus Movie Fest’s website states that, “Campus Movie Fest, the world’s largest student film festival, is the premier outlet for the next generation of filmmakers, with more than one million students at colleges and universities worldwide getting the chance to tell their stories through film. Thanks to corporate partners and schools, CMF is completely free for students.”
The idea for The Last Day of Peace came to me almost as soon as the news that Agnes would be participating in CMF broke out.
And it took off faster than I ever thought it would.
The idea came to fruition thanks to my amazing friends and Co-Director, Abigail Cox.
I’m proud to say that our hard work and re-shot after re-shot paid off in the end when they announced the winners and our film was called.
Just being part of the selected top 16 movies out of the 60 in total submitted, would have been enough. But not only did The Last Day of Peace get to be part of the top 16 films from Agnes, it was also selected as one of the four Jury Awards, which is awarded to the top four films from every school.
It was fantastic to see this project take off from script to screen, and I cannot wait to create the next one.
